How to become a volunteer with ORMHA:
Volunteer information – please submit the information previously entered on an ORMHA form into the (spordle) Registration system by selecting Volunteer Registration. Certifications questions may be directed to Liz using Certifications@ormha.ca

HEO Certification Requirements for Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers and Managers
All Coaches, all Bench & On-Ice Staff and all Managers must have completed the requisite training as per the HEO Certification Requirements link above and:
Respect in Sport Activity Leader Program: to register visit https://heo.respectgroupinc.com/secure/ or have Speak Out (must be logged on HCR)
Be registered (with proof of registration) for the appropriate clinic(s) before their First Regular season league game or on-ice activity (Initiation Program) to remain on the team’s roster
Gender Identity Training (GIT) - mandatory for all Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers and Managers (to be completed within 30 days of being named to a team and before November 30th, whichever comes first). To register for GIT visit https://register.hockeycanada.ca/clinics
Additionally, all Trainers must have completed:
HTCP Level 1 or Level 1 Refresher (refresher must be done no later than October 31st of the current season). βTo register visit https://hdcoelearning.com/β

V ulnerable Sector Police Records Check
- Required for ALL volunteers - coaches, assistant coaches, trainers, managers, on-ice assistants, dressing room supervisors and treasurers. This is now done online - you must request a volunteer letter (in PDF format) from risk@ormha.ca in order to receive this service free from Ottawa Police Services. Starting Sept 1st, 2019, the OPS will charge $10 for a volunteer vulnerable sector check, please request your letter to get your check done for no fee.
- Your PRC will be reflected on your HCR (Hockey Canada Record) and must be there in order for you to appear on a roster (send completed PRC to certifications@ormha.ca for logging on HCR)
